It’s a little weird to me that keeping our bodies in prime condition requires that we make them work harder. Machines that we create generally work better if you use them less often, but not our bodies.
Yesterday and today, I had a half-hour walk with my six year old. I’m going to try and do this every day. I wasn’t as tired as I expected I would be when I finished, though it does make one of the bones in my right leg hurt – in the back, about six inches above my foot. This is a problem that I’ve had for a long time, and forgot to bring up at the doctor’s office. It hasn’t actually happened for a while because I have done so little exercise. The three mile hike to and from Delicate Arch that I did this time last year really caused that pain to flare up. I’m hoping that it’s just another symptom of not getting regular exercise.
